Even in our native country and language, we don't always understand exactly what a word means. When we start looking internationally, things can get more complicated. For that reason, we have decided to add a Glossary section to the site. Right now it is little more than an idea but it will evolve.
While we generally don't want to talk about crime, it is a consideration when you are shopping for your new home. What is important is that you need to understand what high crime, low crime and such means in the context of where you are considering living.
Moving to the tropics is a common idea but many people don't really understand what that means. Some expect that everywhere in the tropics means living next to the ocean in a perpetually hot climate. Others associate the tropics with nothing more than an area filled with dangerous snakes, hurricanes and malaria-carrying insects. While all of this can be true in some areas, it is far from the whole picture. The purpose of this article is to help you understand the tropics and get an idea about your options.

This is the beginning of a new site. It's goal is to help people decide if it is time to move to a new country and, if so, help you make the right decisions. We have been running a site called http://www.nicaliving.com for over eight years. There is a lot of useful information there if your destination is Nicaragua. But, it's time for a software upgrade.
